har har har what a riot corpse bride. lol sheer pants at prada you say! who wears sheer pants! omg sheer overskirt and coat. no laughing matter; not funny. rather, insightful depiction of vulnerability vs protection and reinterpretation of modesty vs sex. can the two poles exist in harmony? who knows but this depth of sheerness tickles my fancy.

now that i have liquid fortification, i feel well prepared to officially flip my shit in writing over s/s08 balenciaga. i mean come the fuck on, is it not blowing your collective minds? i don't want to hear anyone copping out and crying that 'its not wearable/practical' or that it's 'bizarre/weird' it is straight gorgeous! i'll say the typical fashion bitch catchphrase (because it's true) 'its not supposed to be accessible' because its not, sorry, when has balenciaga been tame and something that is pleasing to everyone? that's what gives design momentum; offending and appalling gets you further than being bland and mildly saccharine. without the obscene there would be no progression of what is considered acceptable; no movement of trend. and honestly, if you cannot appreciate prints, yes prints, that look like intricate jaquards, lanyard whip stitching to fortify exoskeletal forms, and the matador-on-meth gladiator sandals then i really don't think we can continue seeing each other. its not me, its you. please see my design spank bank of images below.

richard prince + LV bags

the s/s08 LV Richard Prince designed bags poke fun at the very people who would carry a monogram bag anyhow complete with Henny Youngman jokes all over the side. Asthetically, I find this particular style to be soothing and would rather see one in a plexiglass case than swinging from the arm of a drunk celebutant and for the kajillion dollars they will cost I'd would rather have a shred of a nurse painting. However, judging by the prior artist collaborations with LV bags these will sell just as well despite the talks of the age of the IT bag being over. I mean, russia and dubai still exist and china was recently rated as being the #1 luxury good purchasing country which is kind of a mind trip considering it's history of giving canal street all of it's fine 'inspired' wares.

the wonderful wizard(ress) of OZ

alice mccall is an australian designer who previously worked with buddhist punk and did a lot of styling. that's the short version. the long gushy version is that she now has a name-sake brand where she makes really of-the-moment wearable clothes. the current fall/winter07/holiday07 collection is available at honey in the rough in the lower east side(helpful i know) and its ridic cute,sassy,rad,tight,and necessary. these are photos from s/s 08. feelin' good feelin' great.

john waters films: trove of sick outfit ideas

is there a box set of all the john water's movies? why not? they would make a killing because 'omg i luv hairspray john travolta dress as a woman is so funny!' and then tens/hundreds/millions could be shocked and/or offended by the other, better films and also i would be able to have it for my very own! hairspray, not really my deal; pecker, cry baby, and serial mom are my jams. i have yet to see pink flamingos so i cannot speak on what i am sure is its fantastically bizarre visuals and perversely hilarious dialogues.
oh my point: graphic colors, blissfully awkward pattern mixing, and 90s proportion aesthetics are something to think about and incorporate, i mean if you know what is good for you. please see these examples in both extreme and toned down forms.

woop woop arsenio back in the house

sorry babies. my hard-drive ate a big one and i had to replace everything, but i did learn that it is possible to live without the internets. just not very fun or informative esp. when fashion week(s) are going on and you cant see any of the shows and you want to die because you keep hearing about shit being off the wall awesome and you see the models going to the castings/shows and it killllls you, but i'm over it. oh yeah. if you havent looked at/feaked over rachel comey s/s 08 you should. it's the shit you need to buy/live by. see below.
