fashion prophecies

in this youtube clip famous (unnamed in the vid) designers in the 30s predict what women will be wearing in the year 2000. spicily accurate depictions of sheer panels, dresses that can go from day to night with structural adjustments, and men that wear uniforms with ample pockets for holding telephones and candy for women (a uniformed man i know needs to get on that candy game)

in related news: i was flipping through a collection of magazine tearings from 2002/2003 that touted NEONS and SHEERS and FLORALS to be all the rage for spring. fret not. whats old is new is old again. good design, really good design (not juicy couture sweat suits) is always where it's at.
