SUGAFOOT N PATRICE

ok so the title has more to do with bad girls club than the following text, but, i have a point to make. Now you know, my loves, my love for jcrew. it's all american! fairly well made! they have MADEWELL (easily best basics store for those who are fed up with american apparel's strangle hold over tee shirts and cardigans and not-withstanding poor quality control in terms of sizing) but. srsly jcrew. $2K for leather luggage? that is catalog/internet only? i'm sure people will buy it, but people will buy fucking anything. ANYTHING (pls see: hello kitty tombstone / vibrator) that is as nonsense as buying a wedding dress online. i could easily blow that cash on the following equally nonsense purchases:

flavor of the moment

i acknowledge my impatience when it comes to hunting for accessories. usually it stems from my attention span hovering on something for a few extra nanoseconds and i decide i need this possibly/probably ridiculous item or i just might die; please see bag and shoe A and B respectively. for winter holidays i feel like i need a supple black bag and some white buckskins. i've spent the past month hunting for similar versions of the ones below to no avail and at the original items respective price points it's an either/or situation. either i need to win the lottery or i need to get some adderal for my shopping adhd.

fashion nerd excitement

so! judging from the shown accessories for s/s08 there may be a new shape in balenciaga handbags! i am honestly excited for this because balenciaga makes some incredible shoes, handbags, small leather goods, and jewelry, but none of them are ever seen in favor of the ubiquitous and throughly played out motorcycle bag. the real ones are nice, but can never be carried lest you feel like looking like a mid-western college sorority sister with a love of all things celebretarded with only worn copy of Star! to introduce you to new fashions. now, balenciaga will obviously still produce and make truckloads of money off of the motorcycle bags, they just will, but these new bags are appealing; they have compartments! patent and matte leather! shoulder straps! good hardware placement! lady like but not stuffy! smart but not unwearable!

peasant pheasant

so stewart + brown is a line of boring organic tee's (not boring because they are organic, boring because long sleeve tee's just don't get me excited) but! their winter accessories are fantastic. like this cashmere peasant cap that i plan to buy and incorporate into my science nerd-siouxise and the banshees-rosemary's baby-thing i've got going on this fall, but unless you work at a store with a generous discount that carries this particular cap it'll set you back 138$ big ones. that's a lot of tattle tales tips. i mean not that you would know..

burberry fall

Burberry Prorsum is getting more and more medieval on our asses with pointy leather gloves, metallic faceted stone encrusted sweaters, and deconstructed armor-like trenches. Despite, F/W runway offerings they are still a brand to look to for classic and stylish cashmere cold weather goods. Net-a-porter has a small selection of cashmere elbow length-slouch gloves and abstracted plaid scarves that need to find their way into my closet.

fall 07 notes: part 5

Fall is the most expensive season both to produce and purchase. You, or atleast I, neeeeed a new bag, and some boots, and some sturdy heels, and a new scarf or two, and a belt for your coat, and and and... you get the picture. This fall there will be no shortage in sculptural heels, graphic frame bags, sculptural heels, art deco references, cat eyeliner, and quirky texture mixing. I may be sitting infront of the air conditioner with a fan also blowing on me as I type this, but thick tights, cashmere gloves, and boots are prancing around my head like sugarplums on Christmas eve.

70s mondrian vision

While Piet Mondrian created most of his work in the late30s-mid40s, the Fall 07 mixed-media references his graphic, linear style with a 70s filter. Texture mixing and layering gives these accessories a wholly personal appeal and the curved classic shapes turn them more towards investment pieces rather than doomed 'it' status.
